ASSOCIATE BUYER

The Associate Buyer is a key member of the team tasked with elevating one of our iconic brands and successfully growing its business in our retail and ecommerce stores. The role works closely with the Brand Director, Product Merchandising, and Marketing to inform how the buy is built and executed at retail. With support from the Director of Merchandising and Inventory Lifecycle Management (the Director), the Associate Buyer will formulate and execute buying and assortment strategies to maximize sales, net profit, and store performance for the assigned categories. The Associate Buyer is responsible for the overall health of inventory, maintaining proper stock levels and assortments through detailed analysis for the retail and online stores. This role will reallocate and replenish merchandise between warehouse and stores based on sales and stock levels, to optimize sales opportunities with the pursuit of getting the right products to the right place at the right time. This role is also responsible for providing necessary analysis and reports to the Senior Retail team to aid decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Buying 

  • Own end to end merchandising and buying strategies, identify and seek opportunities to positively affect company’s overall point of view and financial outcome.
  • Review seasonal collections, strategize investments based on OTB, sales analysis, trend projection, and historical performance for their assigned brand and/or category.
  • Build, evaluate and revise sales plans at category and collection level.
  • Develop monthly allocation and product launch plans in collaboration with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Store Operations, in accordance with marketing and promotion strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities through sales analysis, retail feedback and competitive research.
  • Maintain margin by managing seasonal markdowns and eventual RTV strategy.
  • Ensure all steps of data entry and POs for new collections are accurately entered in the system.
  • Attend merchandising, marketing, and product related meetings for the assigned brand and/or category.
  • Partner with the Director to formulate and execute assortment plans for seasonal buys, strategize investments based on OTB, sales analysis, trend projection, and historical performance

Inventory Management and Replenishment 

  • Consistently monitor sales and stock for all stores, analyze and execute replenishments, transfers, and consolidations accordingly to provide optimal size integrity, maximize sales opportunity, and minimize leftover stock. 
  • Review weekly replenishment/ transfer recommendations made by Retail Support Team and make necessary adjustments.
  • Validate all replenishment POs written by Retail Support Team and send to Corporate Customer Service.
  • Analyze stock performance and recommend merchandise for markdown and eventual RTV Execute markdowns and other price changes in retail system
  • Manage minimums for auto replenishable stock, review and adjust when necessary
  • Plan and communicate Monthly Delivery Calendar for retail and online stores to ensure merchandise are delivered promptly and according to marketing plans; coordinate and negotiate with Shipping Department to minimize impact on merchandise delays
  • Work with Store Managers, Retail Operations, Customer Service, and Shipping Departments to resolve shipping discrepancies 
  • Review and process damage returns, record damage reasons and spot trends for possible defective items or production issues and communicate with the Director and the Corporate Merchandising Team
  • Manage all inventory adjustments and cycle counts
  • Recommend and perform other analyses and actions needed to maintain inventory health

Business Intelligence 

  • Provide necessary reports and analytics to stores and corporate stakeholders
  • Have in depth understanding of retail, online, and business intelligence systems, be the “go-to” person for resolving issues and creating new report modules
  • Provide ad hoc reports as needed in a timely manner

Retail and Online store support 

  • Communicate new product arrivals and business trends
  • Participate in store openings, closings and events as required
  • Attend weekly conference calls, store and manager meetings, and training sessions as required
  • Participate in weekly Online and Merchandising meetings and provide support as necessary
  • Attend monthly Online Target meetings to coordinate product launches in accordance with marketing plans
  • Work with Marketing to develop product knowledge materials for store teams
  • Lead bi-weekly product touch base with store managers, understand each store’s sales trend and adjust strategies accordingly

  • Build strong working relationships across departments throughout corporate and in stores Handle other duties as assigned by the Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College graduate or equivalent required
  • Minimum two years (2) of retail buying experience
  • Previous inventory control experience necessary
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high analytical thinking
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and decision-making
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
  • Prior experience with point-of-sale systems preferred 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Expertise in retail math is required

BRAND IDENTITY MANAGER

The Manager, Brand Identity joins iconic resort apparel brands Tori Richard and Kahala to help develop and execute the forward-facing personality of our brands through physical and digital content applied and communicated across various channels. Counted on to help position Tori Richard as an authentic resort lifestyle brand, and Kahala as the original and leading aloha shirt brand across local, national, and international markets.

As compelling visual installations and graphic content is crucial to all aspects of omni-channel marketing and communications, this role will report to the Director of Marketing. This role supports the development of physical and digital content for all parts of the Tori Richard Ltd business and brands and will establish and maintain effective service level agreements for all customers, both internal and external.

The Manager oversees and demonstrates complete ownership and accountability in their areas of responsibility, in partnership with the Director of Marketing and other leadership team members. Experienced in project management, execution and able to clearly delegate.

Responsible for the quality of graphics projects & deliverables, the Manager will be an essential team player for both Tori Richard and Kahala brands, responsible for facilitating workflows and breaking down roadblocks for the executional team.

The Manager will evaluate gaps and resource needs to continue to deliver projects on time and under budget. The Manager builds a culture of leadership and a productive environment for the entire team. Exemplifies a “we over me” mentality. Manages the day to day while demonstrating capacity to push the limits of the program and drive innovation. 

The Manager oversees a department of two graphic designers as well as managing relationships with external partners and suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand Collaterals and Visual Identity.

Lead the Graphics team in partnership with the Marketing Director to ensure the quality and consistency of brand-right communications.

  • Visual and image editing using adapted software and technologies.
  • Create web ready product imagery to support E-com and Paid Ads as well as partners’ needs.
  • Ensure product images meet quality and company standards.
  • Coordinate with Merchandising teams and our in-house studios to acquire images and graphic assets.
  • Confirm images are uploaded accurately to sites and digital asset management tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in design or related areas and/or seven+ years of Design/Visual Merchandising management experience preferred.

PRODUCTION MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST

The Production Merchandising Specialist is responsible for keeping track of shipments of merchandise between offshore vendors and Tori Richard by ensuring accuracy of all documentation and shipping details. Other responsibilities include duties associated with payment of sample and other invoices, making a catalog of Keep Swatches for print and fabric archives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchasing:

  • Check and approve UPC ticket and packaging information for bulk production.
  • Assist with purchasing worksheets, inventory reports and data, etc.

Importing:

  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and shippers when production is ready for shipment.
  • Assist in communications regarding the status of shipments with the Shipping department, appropriate merchandisers, and Customer Service, Retail, Marketing teams.
  • Ensure all necessary documents are complete for shipment and distributed to appropriate parties.
  • Check for accuracy on all documents.
  • Communicate with brokers and forwarders on releases and devanning.
  • Responsible for payments for release of goods.
  • Arrange truckers for container shipments or advise shipping department when shipments have cleared US Customs.

Payments:

  • Check invoice amounts and for any discrepancies between the L/C and the shipment fulfillment.
  • Submit documents and invoices to Accounting Department (including month received, division to allocate, and split).
  • Take care of any payments for release of goods.
  • Review invoices for samples, bulk surcharges, development charges, freight, and request payments via wire transfers, checks, etc.

Other duties:

  • Assist with Style Master and other maintenance in the company’s ERP.
  • Receive, identify, and label cuttings of bulk fabric from suppliers. Have the Keep Swatches made and filed.
  • Participate in production inspections in the warehouse when issues arise, record findings.
  • Help in other areas as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma.

  • Proficiency in general computer use and in software programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Zoom)

    DELIVERY DRIVER/WAREHOUSE

    This position will be mainly responsible for driving our box truck/cargo van to do deliveries. Non-CDL, but subject to FMCSA medical examination rules. This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties such as pulling orders, receiving shipments, loading and unloading boxes/pallets, some heavy lifting/moving of fabric/boxes, packing garments, etc. in a team-oriented environment while not on the road.

     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Unload/load boxes of merchandise
    • Check in all merchandise and material entering the warehouse according to cut sheets and/or packing list.

    • Return garments to stock.
    • Ensure presence and completeness of shipping request slips and packing list on all orders.

    GERBER TECHNICIAN FASHION TECHNOLOGY

    The Gerber Technology Technician is responsible for the marker making and grading for all divisions.

    SOME DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

    • Conducts entire marker making process.
    • Minimizes fabric waste by executing precise pattern placement.
    • Measures all fabric to determine print repeat and maintains the Fabric Registration file.
    • Conducts entire grading process using the AccuMark system.
    • Manages sample requests (Salesman, Sew-by and Costing).
    • Conducts weekly QC at sewing contractors, and of hanging stock as needed.

    SOME QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

    • Some pattern making experience.
    • Knowledge and/or experience in marker making and grading.
