DRIVER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely and efficiently operate all company vehicles.
  • Pick up, deliver, load, and unload goods to local vendors and retail stores using company vehicles.
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Ensure loads to be picked up and delivered are correct by performing unit counts prior to, or during loading/unloading procedures.
  • Perform daily pre-trip safety inspections on the interior and exterior of company vehicle.
  • Ensure vehicles are refueled at the end of each day.
  • Ensure items arrive safely and without damage.
  • Ensure presence and functionality of all driver and safety equipment in the vehicle.
  • Maintain a monthly mileage, gas, and safety log.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, storage area, and loading docks.
  • Secure vehicles and ensure cell phones are being charged nightly.
  • Maintain retail store supplies and fulfill supply orders as needed.
  • Perform retail store transfers.
  • Pick-up and drop off garments to and from local sewing contractors.
  • Pick-up garment and/or supply shipments as needed.
  • Assist with end-of-day replacement and inventory of light bulbs.

Other duties as assigned can include:

    • Assist with receiving and unloading of merchandise.
    • Order preparation duties such as steaming, tagging, folding, and or packing garments.
    • Organizing and maintaining parts of the warehouse and/or company property.
    • Maintain effective and timely communication with the Shipping Manager, as well as other related departments.
    • Ensure goods are always protected and kept clean and dry.
    • Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse.
    • Ensure items are immediately returned to appropriate areas.
    • Proactively assist with various warehouse duties.
    • Proactively assist and perform other various warehouse duties as needed by the Shipping Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

·       Previous warehouse experience.

  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract and driver history record required.
  • Ability to provide company’s standard of customer service with both customers and other vendors.
  • This position is subject to FMCSA medical examination requirements.
  • Reliable, dependable, responsible, and trustworthy.
  • Possesses a great work ethic and a "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to multitask, time manage, and prioritize workloads.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS

·       Ability to obtain a clear medical examination certificate.

·       Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

·       Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, stoop, turn and or twist.

·       Ability to grasp, squeeze, push, pull, reach, and manipulate objects with right/left hand(s).

·       Ability to lift and carry 60+ lbs.

COMPENSATION: $20-$22 hourly, commensurate with experience.
